The Wild Things Are Here

I watched "Where The Wild Things Are" yesterday.

I don't really have much to say about the film. I think it's just about perfect.

Max Records is great as "Max".

The cinematography, the music, the script, set design and direction are all superb.

The Wild Things, brought to life via a combination of Jim Henson Workshop puppeteers, cgi, and amazing voice actors, are fantastic.

Absolutely no complaints.

I think I'm in love with this movie.

Photoplays For The Wayward Soul

I posted a new photoplay on YouTube.

Indeed. It has been a while, but damn you, I am back!

The short is entitled "Dali and Me", and follows two young men as they deal with issues of depression, insecurity and friendship with the aid of alcohol.

It's a delightful yarn, and I am very proud. You can view this little nightmare by looking to the right. Either watch the short on my Channel Viewer, or click the link to my Tube Channel.

Do what you must. I no longer care.

Couples Retreat

I saw "Couples Retreat" last weekend.

Fuck that movie.

That is all.

Where Do They Go?

I used to live near the interstate.

I would frequently wander out in the middle of the night, to the sidewalk overpass that crosses the interstate, sometimes with friends, but usually by myself.

I would reach the center of the overpass, sit down, and watch the cars and trucks driving east and west while I smoked too much and pondered.

I rarely made this trek during the hot months. I have always preferred colder weather. I have always found the stillness of a cold Winter's night comforting. It helps me think.

On many cold nights, I would sit on the overpass and watch the cars, wondering where they were going. Business trips, vacations... maybe they're just going home.

I moved away from the interstate nearly two years ago. I live outside of town, surrounded by wildlife.

At night, the coyotes yip and howl all around me. And I sit in my backyard, staring at the multitude of stars that I could never see under the orange glow of the city.

I sit, I listen, and I smoke too much. But I rarely see any cars.

Two years ago, I got on the interstate, and I found a new home.

And I no longer wonder where all the cars go.

Can You Feel It?

I stepped outside a little earlier. I was delighted to feel a chill in the air. It's October, and Autumn has finally arrived.

Ahh...

Most people just say "Fall", but I hate calling it that. It's not a befitting name for such a wondrous season. "Autumn", on the other hand, has stature. A good, strong word.

It seems almost everybody dislikes Autumn. Because it reminds them that Winter is just around the corner. And people hate Winter. I don't. It's the most wonderful time of the year.

The bitter cold, the howling winds, the occassional ice storm... I love it all. When I take a brisk walk on a grey winter afternoon, I can smell the burning wood of numerous fireplaces. I marvel at the sight of all the bare, leafless trees. It's a magical thing.

I love Winter. Unconditionally. And I love Autumn because it reminds me that Winter is not far behind.

Fuck Global Warming.

Another Photoplay?!

That's right, ladies and gentlemen!

I appear to be on some kind of roll because I have literally just uploaded a brand new photoplay on YouTube.

The name of the short is "Rich Mexican Vampire". The story involves a petty criminal somewhere in Mexico who decides to try his hand at home invasion. Unfortunately for him, he picks the WRONG house.

The music is crudely generated, and you will not recognize it. Not like my last photoplay, which slipped through some sort of copyright crack. Therefore, it is probably not very good.

But screw it. I posted it, anyway.

I don't even know if I need to bother typing the standard boilerplate about viewing, commenting, etc. I guess I just did. Well... an abbreviated version, at least.

Whatever.

If anyone ever reads this blog post, watch "Rich Mexican Vampire". Watch all 9 (9?) of my "hilarious" photoplays on YouTube.

Look to the right.

Indulge me.
